Description
Creating a more compassionate and just world, Habitat for Humanity Tucson brings people together to build homes, communities, and hope. They envision a world where everyone has a decent place to live.
Habitat for Humanity Tucson offers an innovative solution to the crisis of affordable housing by giving a hand up, not a hand out.
They accomplish our mission by building homes in partnership with the community and with low-income families. They value inclusiveness and win/win partnerships, respect for the dignity of each person, and a commitment to deliver a strong return on the community’s investment in our work.
History
Habitat Tucson was founded in 1980 by George Tolman, Jerry McFarland, and Mary Kelley and was the first affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International west of the Mississippi.
