Description
Long Island Teen Challenge (LITC) is a locally operated, faith-based, registered non-profit organization offering aid, support and mentoring with residential care to men, women and families suffering with life-controlling problems such as drugs, alcohol or crime, targeting families and children who are at risk. Long Island Teen Challenge is a fully accredited, credentialed affiliate of Teen Challenge International serving over 90 countries in 1,000 plus centers throughout the world for the past 51 years. Long Island Teen Challenge currently serves 75 students, 25 staff, and up to 29,000 souls through outreach ministries.
Teen Challenge endeavors to help people become mentally sound, emotionally balanced, socially adjusted, physically well, and spiritually alive regardless of race, social background, religion, or creed.
History
Established in 1990 by Brooklyn Teen Challenge graduate, Jimmy Jack, Long Island Teen Challenge has continuously fulfilled its mission of providing youth, adults and families with an effective and comprehensive Christ-centered solution to life-controlling drug and alcohol problems in order to become productive members of society.
