Description
The purpose of this Christian mission is to bear the message of man’s redemption through Jesus Christ to all men, to establish and maintain a place of worship for Almighty God, the Heavenly Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ, His only begotten Son through the Holy Spirit, and for the promotion of Christian fellowship and edification.
Through the mission, they seek to minister to the general community by providing churches, schools, clinics and feeding stations, and by teaching agricultural and other skills helpful to the people of Haiti.
History
The year was 1983 when George and Jeanne DeTellis left the United States and went to Haiti with whatever they could carry on the plane.
They lived in tents and started a church the first Sunday they were there. A banner hanging nearby read, “Haiti: Hope in God.” Who could have imagined how God would bless such humble beginnings!
Today, those tents are a distant memory. More than 30 years later, New Missions has over 30 churches and elementary schools, high schools, medical clinics, a Bible college, as well a professional trade school.
